Out of Pocket Expenses

A plaintiff may claim at trial any expense that was necessitated by the injury as long as the court finds the expense was reasonable and due to the injury. For example, expenses for things such as medical treatment, mileage, home modifications, home making assistance, and yard work may all be claimed at trial and will be reimbursed if they are found to be reasonable and necessary due to an injury that was caused by another person’s negligence.
